- Locatie: Blackheath
- Cod produs: WWBM
This weekend includes staying for 2 nights in the beautiful Parklands Country Garden & Lodges in Blackheath with your own fireplace, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 spectacular guided walks, and a welcome goodie bag.
Prices are $950 per person twin share (2 beds) with ensuite or $1350 for your own room with ensuite. Maximum group size is 10 people.
The walks on this weekend involve MANY steps. Although we never rush, and in fact we tend to walk quite slowly, with lots of opportunities to soak in the surroundings and take photos, you will enjoy this weekend more if you have a moderately good level of mobility and fitness.
Parklands Country Garden & Lodges is a wonderful, tranquil property only approximately 10 minutes walk from the quaint village of Blackheath, which has many good restaurants to choose from for your evening meals (not included).
The weekend starts at 1.00 PM on Friday the 21st of August. After some quick hellos, we
will head off to the nearby Grand
Canyon Walk. This walk is extremely popular and for good reason - it is widely
regarded as the most beautiful walk in the Blue Mountains! It is also one of
the busiest - therefore we will take advantage of the late afternoon weekday
and miss the crowds. The walk involves lots of steps, but they are worth it!
Saturday: 9.00 AM Meet in the lobby area
and we’ll head off on our walk. We begin our walk by making our way through the
pretty streets of Blackheath, until we reach a quiet bush path that leads down
through a gentle valley. After some meandering, the path takes a dramatic turn
as the enormous Grose Valley opens up in front of us. The walk then continues
along the edges of the cliff line, with views for many kilometres. At an
awesome viewpoint, we turn off this path and make our way back up to
Blackheath, for a well-earned lunch in a local café.
After lunch, we recommend
spending your free time looking around the cute village of Blackheath.
Blackheath is small but has some lovely quirky shops, including three antique
shops, new and second hand book shops, local artists galleries, collector vinyl
records, boutique clothing and eco wear shops, kitchenware and more. We highly
recommend a visit to the Victory Theatre Antique Store, even if it is just to
look at the vast array of stuff there!
You could also drive down to nearby Megalong Valley to visit the two wineries there, or if apples are in season, visit nearby apple orchards for an apple pie and hot apple drink. We can also organise an in-room massage as an optional extra!
Sunday: 9.00 AM: Meet in the lobby area for our
last walk. We will drive a short distance and go on a beautiful, varied
bushwalk through an area that is usually only frequented by locals and rock
climbers. This walk explores the Western side of the ridge that Blackheath sits
on and has beautiful views over the Kanimbla Valley. Along the way, we will
have a rustic picnic in a scenic spot.
1.30 PM (approx.) We come to
the end of our walk and our weekend. On the way back to the city (if you are
heading that way), why not drop in to the cute village of Leura for some
shopping and afternoon tea.
This weekend is a one-off and will run on August 21-23, 2026!
If these dates don't suit you, we can organise this same program for your own private group, on dates that suit you. We just need 6 people to run our weekends, and the dates are of course, subject to the availability of the accommodation provider and our guides. Email or call us to see what we can do!
